1. What inspired the Loobani?
I am the proud parent of a furry kid named Harry. He is always so full of energy, and I enjoy making DIY enrichment toys to keep him mentally stimulated and entertained. Harry’s favorite toy is the self-made bottle spin toy that I created in our yard.
To make the toy, I drilled two holes in each bottle, threaded a rope through a row of plastic bottles, filled them with small snacks, and tied the two ends of the rope to the railing. This self-made enrichment toy quickly became a hit with Harry and his furry friends.
I still remember Harry’s reaction when he first saw the toy. He was absolutely thrilled, and I knew I had created something special. 2. How did the product’s design develop over time, was the final iteration how you always envisioned it?
During the development process of our product, one of the challenges we faced was finding the right balance between difficulty and fun. We wanted to create an engaging, mentally stimulating toy that was not too difficult for dogs to figure out.
For example, while Harry had no trouble with the original bottle spin toy, we received feedback from some dog owners that their pets found it too challenging. To address this, we also design a new product for some beginners with a lower difficulty level.
Our goal is to create an inclusive product line that caters to the needs of all dogs, from beginners to advanced puzzle solvers. We believe that every dog deserves a toy that challenges and engages them, and we are committed to making that a reality.
3. How does the Loobani differ from other slow feeders, and why did you ultimately choose bamboo as a base versus plastics or other materials?
One of the main differences is the material used to make the toys. At Loobani, we take pride in the fact that our toys are primarily made from bamboo – a material that’s durable, safe, and eco-friendly. We are passionate about promoting sustainable practices and believe reducing our carbon footprint is crucial in ensuring a better future for our furry friends and the planet.

For example, the “H” shaped base of our toys represents my love for my furry kid, Harry(since H is the first letter of his name), and provides practical benefits. During testing, we found this design is incredibly sturdy and won’t tip over easily, even as dogs try to access the treats inside. We understand that playtime should be fun, not messy or frustrating. That’s why we take every aspect of toy design seriously, from material selection to practical design elements.
4. What is the function of the three containers rather than one?
The three-bottle design allows for multiple treats or types of dog food to be used at once, providing more variety and stimulation during playtime.
With the ability to hold up to 8 cups of dog food, our toys provide ample opportunity for mental stimulation and slow feeding. By having three different bottles with varying sizes of holes, dogs are challenged to figure out which bottle to flip and how to keep it balanced to release the treats inside.
5. What benefits does the Loobani offer to dogs? How can it combat behavioral issues and separation anxiety?
